Although the ship is away in dry dock for repairs and restoration, the museum is still a good time! Andrew worked at the USS KIDD Veterans Museum for 4.5 years after he did completed his Eagle Scout project on board, so the museum holds a special place in his heart. If you have an hour or so to go through the museum while you're in town, we highly recommend it!
Located right down the street from the USS KIDD Veterans Museum, the Old State Capitol is a totally free experience and a wonderful piece of history to see while you're in town.
The museum is mainly a collection of old, historic buildings that were moved to the grounds to be open for touring, but has a modern (and air conditioned) portion showcasing Louisiana's rich history. This museum is attached to our wedding venue but is definitely an activity to do a few hours before you need to get ready for the wedding because it is not air conditioned.
